The Culture of Life...

The world of today is surrounded by different social issues that drag the sanctity of the human life. Most of the countries are now allowing immoral practices such as contraception, euthanasia, death penalty and anti- birth policies. This ideology seems to be practical and in support for the freedom and desire of the people but completely against the will of God. The danger of it is drawn into the eclipse of the sense of God and the importance of the dignity of man. Man is now focus on the things that the society demands forgetting his/her ultimate purpose as a creation of God...called to live a holy life..

In the Philippine context, most of the ordinary citizens are struggling for their day to day needs. Some of these people are engaging to different unlawful jobs such us prostitution, robbery, or even hired as serial killers. If we try to realize what happened to these people, and trace back the root of their situation, then we can identify that poverty, abuses, and selfishness of the evolving society are the primary reasons of their sinfulness. We can easily judge these people for being immoral and label them as the problem of the society, and yet we contributed in their suffering which can be seen in the prevalent structures of sins in the society. Most of us are in the seeing level of the social problem, we even judge and yet we are not giving any response as to help these people. If we can't break this cycle of injustices in the society then we will carry the same problem in the future. Our country right now is manipulated by mostly greedy and selfish leaders, who don't mind for the authentic development of the people. Instead they focus all their energies for the economic development of the nation, even if the inviolability and sanctity of life is at risks. We hope that the development of our country must be dual, both in economic aspect and in the human development side. For what is a progressive society if the holistic formation of a person is destroyed? The most priority must be the human wellness and transformation. If only this concern will be addressed then, we can't see people doing such any immorality.

That is why the late Pope John Paul II would emphasized in his encyclical letter Evangelium Vitae the role of the church in helping the people to have a strong moral conscience that enables them to choose what is good over evil. Our task for now is to consistently educate every person especially the youth, and stress out the importance of conscience formation in fighting the dark phase of the society today. This mission is not only in the teaching level but there must be the witnessing too in order to inspire others to do the same. We need to form not only the head but also the heart, and we need to form the feet as to  lead the people to walk in the light of Christ's love.

Jesus, the Living Bread John 6:51, 54-57 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.  Shedding the Light The Holy Eucharist is the summit of all prayers. We come together as one people of God in a special celebration of faith, love and gener

Alethialogy of the Human Person

In the book of Fr. William Malley, SJ, the term Alethialogy is derived from two Greek words: Aletheia (truth) and logia (study of) which means in simpler terms as the study of truth. In man’s journey towards seeking the truth, he must use his giftedness such as the rationality in order to unveil the truth that he is looking for. But using his rationality can never be enough, man must be able to transcend his level of reasoning into the level of genuine truth – the truth of all the truths. Then, how can man reach to the truth of all the truths? At this point, man is no longer challenge in finding the answer into the physical realms but he needs to go beyond the material world by reaching the uncreated world. This is the world in which man can only attain through spiritualization. Man must be able to communicate to his ultimate maker – the Creator of heavens and of earth. This must be God as what St Thomas Aquinas would try to elaborate on his book: Proofs of God’s Existence. In the b

Divine Mercy Sunday

Have you ever thought about how much God loves us?   The love of God for us is beyond our imagination. His love is transformative, changing His beloved into a new creation. His greatest love was bestowed upon us by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross and save us from sin, despite our unworthiness. God chose to love us unconditionally, taking a risk, knowing that we may or may not reciprocate the love He offers us. Today, the entire Catholic Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday, remembering how Jesus' love saved us and washed away our sins through the water and blood of His love for us. How much do you love Jesus? Are you willing to choose and follow Him? Deus Caritas est

“Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in a love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the mornings, what you will do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.” -Pedro Arrupe, SJ 27th Superior General of the Society of Jesus

God is Real

Summary of the Book:  A GOD THAT COULD BE REAL- SPIRITUALITY, SCIENCE, AND THE FUTURE OF OUR PLANET Most of us still believe of the Biblical perspective of the world. We people commonly rely on the idea of God by a traditional manner, allowing ourselves to much immerse to what the teachings of the Church inculcates us, separating the scientific lens of seeing the world and its origin and then conclude that God is the sole creator of all that exists in this vast universe. Nancy Ellen Abrams started her point to the prevalent issue concerning women in the society. How the world would discredit and treated women lesser than men. Without recognizing the major contributions of women in the development of the societal dynamism. This led Nancy to focus on the continuous inquiry of knowing the most popular issue of all times – the Existence of God and how the universe came into reality. For Nancy, 30 years ago, she believes that God was indeed a fiction. Her personal hold clings o
